Jay is originally from Chicago IL, where he attended Northern Illinois University studying Biology. Upon graduating, he worked as a Marine Biologist for 3 years in Chicago before moving to St. Petersburg FL for 2 years working as an environmental scientist. In April of 2023, Jay settled in St. Michaels MD with his longtime girlfriend Becca.

Jay began running in 2021 and has since completed 3 Half Marathons, 1 Full Marathon and 1 half-ultra. In the near future, he plans to run a full ultra. In his free time, other than running, Jay enjoys lifting weights, fishing, aquarium keeping, playing golf, reading books, gardening, cooking, birdwatching, and playing with his 3 dogs and 1 cat.
